Field Test Report - Kin-ko bay, Kagoshima, Japan (Feb 2023)

The red sea bream is pink!

Nokkomi red sea bream from Kinko Bay in Kagoshima is said to be the fastest in Japan. It starts from February. I visited in late February to test the Vajra120 and Heavy weight proto.

On the first day, Mr. Sea Dragon, who always takes care of me, gave me an introduction. It's a one-day boat that departs at 5 o'clock to the mouth of the bay.

We arrived at the point and started in the rain, but the wind was so strong and the tide was so hot that at 120, the line went right to the side.

So, I quickly put in 220 Proto, and I got two in quick succession! Get a good size!

220 Proto de Pink (balanced product)!

The heavy weight model under development is still searching for the optimal balance, but this one is pretty good. I might have found it.

I wanted to test other jigs as well, so I gave this jig to the Jr. tester.

Easy fishing lol

I'll catch more and more lol

I also catch Renko sea bream lol

and,

A nice turn behind Mt. Kaimondake! Isn't it the best? lol

I did it, about 65cm!
It came up with only one piece of mesothelium in the mouth.

Females are happy too. Mako~

I was trying out various things,

Green gold 220 proto, beautiful female. This doesn't have any balance adjustment, but I've played around with the hook a bit. (Details will be published in due course.)

And don't miss the moment when the tide finally eases, with the product Vajra 120.

I did it 60up! !

After all, if you can catch the bottom, you can catch a lot of fish with a 120. The shelf is around 90m, but when it's hot, even with a 220, you can only bottom out about 3 times. And pink got a lot of good reactions. I didn't bring the pink 300 with me so I couldn't try it. . .

On this day, two other customers were fishing with Thai mules, but they were able to catch just as much with jigs. On average, most of the jigs were of better shape. (The largest fish was a Thai mulefish, which was 73cm long.)

---
The boat I had originally planned for the next day was cancelled, so I made an urgent request to Jumbo. It was my first time, but he was a very good captain.

The boat departs at 6 a.m. in the dark. The point is a half-day boat ride in the bay. Jumbo was originally scheduled to be in the bay, but the northerly wind was strong that day, so Sea Dragon was also moved to the bay.

According to advance information, the bay was fine until four days ago, but the nets got in and it wasn't very good. I have a slightly bad feeling. . .

There were 6 customers on this day, all of whom were Thai mules except for 2 of us. The depth is not much different from yesterday, but the tide is not fast, so 120 is perfect.

As soon as it started, people fishing in Tairaba were catching fish in quick succession while it was still dark.

Hmm? this is? Unlike yesterday at the mouth of the bay, I felt that the jig was not very accurate, so I quickly changed it to a prank lol and it was a huge hit! After combining it twice and disassembling it,

You can catch, you can catch, you can catch! (There was a time when I was able to hit it even though I didn't have a happy mule.

However, Tester Jr. had a tough time. I turned it into a prank and it turned out to be a hit, but I ended up matching it. . .

And this time, just before the end, there was a blast. Even in the bay, you won't be able to reach the bottom. So, I put in 220 proto.

And finally, the big one━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━!!
It's over 60. Maybe around 63?

When I finished, (I) had the same 4 pieces as yesterday. Although I lost to the top person on Tairaba, I was probably 3rd on the ship. But this is in the bay, which is supposed to be cool. Kinko Bay is scary. . .

Now I can continue living with red sea bream for the time being (very delicious lol)

Well, in this test fishing trip, I was able to prove that even a jig can compete with the Thai Mule. No small fish came out of the bellies of either of the sea breams, so it's rather strange.

And pink is by far the best. Don't forget the pink Vajra for Nokkomi red sea bream!

Also, you can catch fish with a 120 if you can get it to the bottom, but there were many situations where I couldn't compete with it. We would like to quickly commercialize products up to 220. See you soon.
